Whether you are familiar with the field of coaching or brand new to it, "The Coach Within" helps you explore what coaching has to offer from a new angle. While we typically think of coaching as a relationship between two people, coaching is also a collection of ideas and practices. It¿s a growing toolkit with elements that can be explored, learned, and implemented on one¿s own, in relationship with oneself. Hence, the coach within. Coaching is a flourishing and continually evolving field and there's a good reason for that. Not only is it a highly-effective and validating process for expanding one¿s life and bringing about desired outcomes and new realities, but it is a concept whose time has come¿a system of beliefs and approaches so in tune with what the world needs and where we're all heading. Its techniques, underpinnings, and values can be used on ourselves and with others, on concerns small or mighty, and in all fields of endeavor.Engage your own inner coach with the exercises in this book and start benefitting immediately from improved ways to tackle your problems, fresh approaches to relationships and communication, life hacks for your habits, real movement towards your goals and dreams, and insights into sustaining happiness and overall thriving.Your thinking, seeing, doing, and being will never be the same once you¿ve encountered the power of creativity, responsibility, being with yourself and not your problems, self-care, getting curious, being right (right now), tipping the scale, playing big, and 20 more big ideas from the world of coaching.… (mere)

This book a good reference for helping a person stand up for themselves and find the power within to succeed. It offers valuable tips and provoking insights on ways to improve your personal professional performance and even your every day life. I found the book easy and fun to read - just the right length that it was quick to get the valuable insights but not too daunting to read for someone who needs help (coaching) to improve.

This was a small, short book but had some quick tips on how to incorporate ideas for coaching yourself. It was an easy read with some great steps to follow along. I liked that it was a workbook that really laid out the steps for people.

What a valuable resource! And not only a resource, but a game plan, a path to walk, a strategy to follow. This book is packed with relatable ideas that get you involved in making your own change happen.

This is not just a book to read; you actually need to complete the actions suggested in order to make it work. The actions are preceded by easily absorbed nuggets of the concepts needed for change. The progression of these chapters flows easily and gives one pause for thought.

If you need a motivational push to get going on something or make a needed change, this is the book to use. You will learn what is needed, and can tackle the issues with the support of these concepts. I recommend this book if engaging a personal coach is not attractive or possible for you. ( )

Self help book in the disguise of "coaching oneself". Thesis we can all motivate ourselves if we have the right tools. More of a workbook than an actual book. Perhaps a good resource for someone who is thinking about hiring a personal life coach and wants to know what to expect. ( )

I received this book from the Early Reviewer's program. I didn't realize that the book was about coaching yourself, not really a focus on coaching others. After I adjusted my perspective, I settled into read the book. It of course is a different perspective to apply coaching techniques on yourself. I really liked the focus of Idea #10 which is Being with Yourself and Not Your Problems. The advice is to treat your own issues, pain etc. like a coach would: Stop trying to do something about the pain to make it go away but acknowledge it, name it and let it be. Simple but effective advice. This book can and should be picked up many times throughout the year to reassess and recoach oneself. ( )
