This book is a collection of 19 authentic and easy to make recipes from different cultures around the world. The selection includes main and side courses for every taste, and of course delicious desserts to follow them. For dinner tonight, how about spicy pilau rice from Zanzibar accompanied by Tibetan pan-fried tsampa and a delicious Sindh-style cream cake smoldered in rose syrup? As a fan of both food and unrepresented peoples gaining their independence, I was drawn to "Native Delights". The Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organisation (UNPO) has compiled a cookbook of recipes from member nations (including Tibet, Taiwan, Abkhazia and the South Moluccas) which, on the main, look good. When I bought the book I had plans of trying a number of recipes. That was 4 years ago. I've tried one (Abkhazia's Abysta, a polenta-like meal) and the rtesults vwere mixed (nothing personal against any Abkhazians reading this).

Maybe one day I'll get around to making another. ( )
