IvX was... surprisingly good? I don't know what I was expecting per se... or, well, I do. AvX was so drastically one-sided. The X-Men were right and the Avengers were dicks and caused the entire mess that then had to be cleaned up. This one though, it was actually legitimately complicated with logic and ambiguity and complexity on both sides and I really enjoyed it!

And! All the tie-ins were relevant and interesting and expanded on the story in fun and interesting ways (barring a few small "that character definitely wasn't at that battle" art inconsistencies at places).

The main Event Series was very well done! A solid story, and the only ending that would actually be an ending that matters. Did it take too long overall to get here? Probably. But it was a great payoff nonetheless. ( )

Reread of Baby!Jean Arc

Most of these were read in a blur of summer bliss in a hammock in a backyard garden as I finally followed up on my original reads of the baby!Jean storyline that I'd gotten half into before falling out of again. I really do continue to love this storyline mostly for her.

This storyline all across was pretty *meh* to me, sadly. I didn't feel a lot for the Inhumans the way I usually do, which is a surprise and there weren't a lot of the kid!X-Men that were crossed-over through their title. ( )

Just barely a 3 star rating. Too much willful ignorance & assumption driving a too-thin plot that should have been 1-2 issues stretched too much over 6 issues ( )

Probably a 3.5. It's hard to rate when I'm reading the additional issues from the associated comics.

I'm not really a big Inhumans fan. I like a few individuals but overall they don't grab me in the way the X-men do.

I thought the premise was kinda ridiculous. Surely all these great minds could have developed a way too contain the cloud so the Inhumans still had their mist but the mutants weren't compromised.

I liked the art style overall much more than the story, which had its moments but wasn't the b best I've read.

A really good story that explores the things that motivate people and the way we sometimes use fear and anger to make a cause appear just that really isn't. Soule also questions whether violence and war are ever the solution. Great art! A pretty good read!! ( )
