A monkey named Bobo protests her/his mother's calls for bedtime, electing to go play with other animals instead.

This simple bedtime story is rendered with just a handful of words, especially as the younger monkey imitates the way a toddler would speak. I could see this being a very useful book for beginner readers.

The illustrations are quite lovely and really make the book. ( )

Bobo the monkey from the Hug book does not want to go to sleep. He goes to every animal in the jungle to see who will play with him. It is very similar to the other books about Bobo the monkey. The illustrations are colorful and full paged. I would recommend this for any collection owning the others about Bobo and his adventures. ( )

Mama chimp says that it is Bobo's bedtime but Bobo isn't ready to go to sleep - he wants to play. So he sneaks out of bed, not once but twice. But when it starts to get dark and his friends go to sleep, Bobo is scared and wants his mummy. A passing pelican provides a happy ending for this delightful book by award-winning children's author, Jez Alborough. This situations in this story will strike a chord with many children - and their parents. Like the other books that feature Bobo ('Hug', 'Tall' and 'Yes'), the text is kept to a minimum with much of the story told by the engaging pictures. This makes it suitable for very young children as well as those who are just learning to read and want to tackle a 'real' book rather than a reader. ( )
