Graham Russell and I weren't made for one another.I was driven by emotion; he was apathetic. I dreamed while he lived in nightmares. I cried when he had no tears to shed.Despite his frozen heart and my readiness to run, we sometimes shared seconds. Seconds when our eyes locked and we saw each other's secrets. Seconds when his lips tasted my fears, and I breathed in his pains. Seconds when we both imagined what it would be like to love one another. Those seconds left us floating, but when reality knocked us sideways, gravity forced us to descend.Graham Russell wasn't a man who knew how to love, and I wasn't a woman who knew how to either. Yet if I had the chance to fall again, I'd fall with him forever.Even if we were destined to crash against solid ground.… (mere)

Beautiful story

What a great story of true love. It was beautiful to see how Lucy helped Graham just by being her beautiful self. ( )

Get out the Kleenex.

If I could give this book more than five stars I would. Brittainy Cherry always manages to make my heart hurt and my eyes leak but in a good way. She makes me remember why I believe in love. I had to stop reading a few times because I couldn't see through the tears. (Sweet holy hell the conversation between Graham and Mari gutted me. Kudos, to the author, for writing some of the most eloquently written prose I have ever read and I have a Lit degree!)

Graham... What can I say about this sweet beautiful man besides swoon. He is exceptional. Then there is Lucy. She might be my favorite character yet. Her quirkiness and ability to love unconditionally made me both cry with her and for her. When she hurt, I hurt. When she laughed, I laughed. Most importantly, when she loved, I loved. Her ability to be "the heart" to her sisters was something special.

I cannot recommend this book enough. Definitely going to be one of my favorites of 2017 and forever. ( )

La Cherry incanta come sempre Recensione in italiano sul blog -> http://theinkspell.blogspot.it/2017/04/recensione-gravity-of-us-di-brittainy-c.h...

I know I told this before, but it's never been more true than today: this is the hardest review I have ever had to write.

"The Gravity of Us" is a hymn to Love in all its shapes. From dedication to the last dot this book talks about Love. It talks about love between two people, it talks about family love, talks about a son’s love and it also talks about parental love.

You can be a man, a woman, an adult, a child, a father, a mother, a brother, a sister, a friend, you can be sure that in this book you will find a part of you and a part for you.

Love.

The emotion that made people both soar and crash. The feeling that lit humans up and burned their hearts. The beginning and ending of every journey..

Lucy and Graham’s story isn’t the usual story we are used to read from Brittainy. In this story we don’t have disruptive feelings and fatal attractions. In this book the love story (I mean a love story about a couple) isn’t the center of gravity. I mean, it is, but not as much as in other books.

Everything takes place with a sweet and swinging rhythm, as if we were sitting on a rocking chair.

The love between the two main characters grows slowly, almost in secrets.

The characters’ growth is studied even in the smaller detail. Everyone is perfectly characterized with a solid background that is unique and personal.

The plot is simple and I have to admit that I conjectured the final revelation since the first doubt, but this isn’t a bad point. The book is special also for this.

Rebecca wasn’t wrong about hearts and love. Hearts were always welcoming to new love, but when that love settled in, heartbreak sometimes began to creep in the shadows as well.

In the shadows, heartbreak poisoned the love, twisting it into something darker, heavier, uglier. Heartbreak took love and mutilated it, humiliated it, scarred it. Heartbreak slowly began to freeze heartbeats that had once been so welcoming to love.

As always, Brttainy’s style in unique and unrepeatable. The way she writes, the way she is able to make you live every emotion just using words is pure magic for me. She is able to literally enchant you. When I read her books I feel like I’m following the Pied Piper.

“Let her in, my dear. She makes you feel the way Ollie made me feel—whole—and a love like that isn’t something one should ever pass up. There might be a million reasons why you think it couldn’t work, but all you need is one reason why it could. That reason is love.”

If you want a book abou Love, the True Love, that clearly explain what Love is, you must read "The Gravity of Us". ( )

“If you need to fall, fall into me.”

I was expecting this to blow me away based on other reviews I have seen. I picked this as my first Brittainy C. Cherry read based on that and that this was on most people’s top 10 books of 2017. I enjoyed it, but I was a little disappointed. It may have been from the hype.

I really loved the beginning and the ending. I was a little disappointed with the middle. I found myself a little bored. I really did not buy into the romance between Graham and Lucy until the end. I also predicted what was going to happen at the end.

This was still emotional. I shed some tears in the beginning and again at the end. I really did enjoy this, but it just did not blow me away. I am excited to read some more work from this author though. ( )
