What does an idea look like? And where do they come from? Grant Snider's illustrations will motivate you to explore these questions, inspire you to come up with your own answers and, like all Gordian knots, prompt even more questions. Whether you are a professional artist or designer, a student pursuing a creative career, a person of faith, someone who likes walks on the beach, or a dreamer who sits on the front porch contemplating life, this collection of one- and two-page comics will provide insight into the joys and frustrations of creativity, inspiration, and process-no matter your age or creative background.… (mere)

Somewhat interesting exploration of creativity and ideas, and I like his illustration style. But the strained poetry becomes a bit much after a while, and the end feels like he was struggling to get ideas of his own. He seemed to channel that frustration into writing about how difficult it is to come up with ideas, which, frankly, is just boring. ( )

Mildly interesting bunch of comics on aspects of creativity. Some of them are full-page panels with, say, a building in it, with different sections labeled; some are small panels, 12 or 16 to a page, with a single relatively simple image and a caption (within the panel, not below). These often but not always rhyme, or all end with the same sound (frustration, inspiration, perspiration...). His art style is very simple, not realistic, but not stick figures either. Glad I read it, I doubt I'll reread. I had particular problems since I was reading the ebook - in many cases, especially with the full-page panels, the words were too small to see at the default size and too fuzzy to read expanded to the full size of my screen. Probably this one is better on paper. ( )

His illustrations are delightfully imaginative and his words are insightful. ( )

Handful of excellent cartoons on topic of creativity surrounded by scores of dull ones. ( )
