In this epic Biblical narrative, ideal for fans of The Bible miniseries, a young woman taken into the prophet Isaiah's household rises to capture the heart of the future king.   Isaiah adopts Ishma, giving her a new name--Zibah, delight of the Lord--thereby ensuring her royal pedigree. Ishma came to the prophet's home, devastated after watching her family destroyed and living as a captive. But as the years pass, Zibah's lively spirit wins Prince Hezekiah's favor, a boy determined to rebuild the kingdom his father has nearly destroyed. But loving this man will awake in her all the fears and pain of her past and she must turn to the only One who can give life, calm her fears, and deliver a nation.   "Andrews (The Pharaoh's Daughter) offers her unique brand of in-depth Bible knowledge and storytelling flair ... [she] is gifted at bringing the past to life..." --Publishers Weekly (starred review)… (mere)

This added a new depth of perspective to yet another biblical story. I found this story -for the most part- quite enjoyable. However, I enjoyed the first half far more than the second.
In the first part of the story, it focuses on Zibah and Hezi's friendship as it develops over the years.
What I didn't enjoy as much was the second half. Maybe it's because of my age or maybe it was just because. The pacing was a lot slower and my interest faltered a number of times. One thing that was well-done in the second half was the portrayal of marriage. It does not have butterflies and rainbows but instead shows that there are difficulties to work out.
Another aspect of the book that was great was the historical research. Verses from the Bible are at the beginning of each chapter, explaining the events that happen.
Despite the fact that some parts weren't my favorite, I am still looking forward to the release of the next book this year.

Once again Mesu Andrews brings us an epic story of prophetic proportions. We're brought into an amazing story of prophecy and God's timing. It even shows that miracles happened more frequently than not in ancient days. God watches his beloved people turn to idolatry and for this they suffer the consequences.

I was immediately drawn into the novel. This is a brilliant new series, and I can't wait for the next book. ( )

Isaiah’s Daughter is a beautiful story recounting the life of King Hezekiah and Queen Hephzibah. The kingdom of Judah will come to life as the reader delves into the familiar stories of Isaiah and the God fearing King “Hezi” who wipes out the pagan worship set up by his evil father. The main theme running through this inspiring story is the faithfulness of Yahweh for his people and for a traumatized little girl who became the “delight of the Lord”.
If you enjoy reading Historical Biblical Fiction, Isaiah’s Daughter is one of the best. ( )

I have not read any books by Mesu Andrews before and I'm glad I read this book. The author writes in a way that makes you feel you are actually there, in the wings, watching the story unfold.

The story is a fictionalization of the life of Hezekiah and his wife, Hephzibah. It is mainly about Hephzibah, hence the title. It takes the story from the Bible and uses that as the basic background. The story flows well and the characters are quite believable. What I especially like about this book is that each chapter starts with Bible verses that help you understand why the chapter is like it is.

If you like historical fiction you will enjoy this. If you like Biblical fiction you will really like this. I requested this book through netgalley and this review is my own opinion and freely given ( )

Mesu Andrews used Biblical history to weave a beautiful story titled Isaiah’s Daughter.
From captivity to peace, Hephzibah’s story was filled with loneliness & friendship as well as fear & love.
Isaiah’s Daughter allowed me to see King Hezekiah, titled Judah’s most righteous king, as man who had difficulties just like me.
The most powerful message from Isaiah’s daughter allowed me to picture and consider the cost that Isaiah paid for being a prophet of God.
Hephzibah, Hezekiah, and Isaiah…each a precious child of God. Their history and their fictional stories taught me to continue to pursue a relationship with my Savior even when I’m struggling. While reading Isaiah’s Daughter I received encouragement for my own life journey. ( )
