This story follows a young girl and her father throughout the day, while she asks him questions about being a princess. The story is very relatable and fun for any little girl to read. ( )

If you insist on the "every girl is a princess" thing, these books by Carmela LaVigna Coyle are a good way to do it. What do princesses wear on a hike? If it's sensible, they wear what they like. Daddy, do princesses really kiss frogs? They'd much rather kiss their very own dogs.

This book showed how children do like to dress up and how they can imagine a lot. Also, it showed a father daughter realationship. ( )

39 months. - We own Do Princesses Wear Hiking Boots which I really like. This particular book seems more awkwardly worded or maybe it just needed a couple more reads. What O liked more than the story were the list of things to find on the last page. We went back and found everything. ( )

Genre: This is a realistic fiction book. This story was about a girl and her dad that go out for a hike one day. Throughout the day she gets dirty and tired and is wondering if this is what princesses really do? Throughout the day her dad gives her quick and cute answers. Overall all the events in the story are entirely possible as most girls think they are princesses at one point and do not necessarily know how to react when they get dirty or tired.

Age: Primary/Intermediate

Media: Pastel

Use: 1. Use as a introduction to a study on the wilderness 2. After reading, have students write about how they either do or do not like the wilderness ( )
