Listened to audio narrated well by Summer Morton.

Avery is an artist, she spent the first book keeping secrets from Dominic and she spends the majority of this book keeping different secrets from him.

Their relationship seems to have deepened, into a passionate affair that becomes more erotic and kinky as time passes, giving it a 'Fifty Shades of Grey' feeling. But Avery's constant inner monologue stressing her secrets wears on a reader after awhile.

I was almost thankful her blackmailer put her in a position that outed all her secrets.
Of course Dominic has his own secrets and they will blow Avery's secrets out of the water and leave us with a to be continued ending. Thank goodness the next book, 'For 100 Reasons' is already released so you don't have to wait to find out what happens next.

Content warning - The details of Avery's child abuse are revealed and may be difficult for sensitive readers.

The story is heating up. The big secret from the first book wasn't as much as a mind screw that I thought it was going to be. However, the twist at the end when I thought they were about to get the happily ever after, yeah, that was a big one.

Off to the third story. ( )

I Picked Up This Book Because: I’ve been exploring Lara Adrian’s books for a while now. I really enjoyed book 1 (For 100 Days) so when book 2 became available on Netgalley I dropped everything

The Story:

It’s been whirlwind 5 months for Avery and Nick. Avery seems to have secret after secret, starting with her mom serving time in jail for killing her step-father (the bastard deserved worse than death) and ending with the doozy we find out in this book. I won’t spoil it for you. Unfortunately we don’t exactly get a HEA at the end of this book but the situation is not hopeless. I think all will be reconciled in For 100 Reasons.

Overall I enjoyed this book. I did begin to only skim the sex scenes, they are a highly sexual couple so the scenes are numerous. But I liked where the story went and I am very interested in the conclusion of the series.
