"Falling always hurts. Why would love be different?"

This conclusion to Sivan and Imogene’s story is brutal and contains scenes guaranteed to disturb any reader.

Loose ends abound in this story but that's life for you. We leave our improbable heroes in a better place than they were at the outset, and Ashleigh Gionnaccaro has a high spot on my authors-to-watch list.

"The circus is magical, but not all magic is beautiful. Some of it is dark and ugly." ( )

Wow,wow and beyond wow. I am a huge fan of Giannocarro, but I must say she has outdone herself this time. This second act was beyond the show I had hoped to witness. It was a pure piece of well-written art.

In this second act of the cirque, Imogen and our Clown have fallen apart, but long more than anything o be together once again, they need each other and that need is stronger than anything I have ever experienced. They seem to feel that urge and need in every fibre of their being. One made of the magic, the other longing to be part of the magic since his youth, we follow along as they see if the magic is meant for everyone, or if some are lost. The way Giannocarro painted a picture of their lives, I honestly felt wholly connected to every part of them and their life. Even when the worst wrongs in life were commitedm I felt myself loving them and wanting them to experience pure happiness.

I felt even closer to my Clown. Yes, MY Clown. You'll feel it too. No matter what .Clown does, or who evolves into, you felt an utter connection with him because of the man the author has created for us. Even at his worst, you love him. At his best, he is undeniably the best character she has ever made for us.

The pace to this book is perfection. She gives us enough time to experience their lives just as if we were there. We feel what they feel, see what they see and is that popcorn I smell? She wrote the story with a pace that feels real. I love that about her writing. She has a way with creating stories that feel more like real life.

The overall story, I am so in love with I see myself rereading both acts very soon. I highly recommend these two acts, to all who love a dark romance and want to experience a love that is out of the ordinary, but more connected than any love you have every read.
