life can feel so long, and yet it is so short. With each day becoming what seems shorter and shorter, this book fits right in. Not only is this book a heartwarming story of a journey before the emotional end, which will inspire teens like myself to live bigger and better. With the romance not being forced upon the reader, but it is all tied together. I can say that this book is in my top ten. The character development is absolutely amazing, and beautifully written. This book did make me tear up though they were the type of tears you get after reading a fulfilling book. ( )

The end? Die? What the...!??! This was my first book by Adam Silvera so I did not know what to expect.
Intriguing idea though... ( )

It took me some time to become invested in the characters and the intriguing concept of the book was what kept me going. Once I got into it, even with the ending being right in the title, it was just as heartbreaking as you'd imagine. ( )

i know the book tells you how this ends. i know I'm supposed to be prepared for it

but there is no amount of preparation you can have that can adequately cushion the inevitable blow.

and for that reason alone, i am in awe of this book. ( )

It was good until about 7/8 through when a ‘love’ element was added. Two boys, nearing their death, grow an instant connection as they go through the day together skirting their own death. A story about a friendship between two boys that wouldn’t have happened otherwise, had they not both been dying and near the end and matched on an app. Adding in a romantic part felt forced and did not fit within the narrative. Overall the world created that was much like our own was easy to picture and believe into existence. I liked the book regardless of the love plot twist, but I would have loved it far more without it.
