Although The Complete T. rex is older than the previously reviewed Tyrannosaurus rex (1993 versus 2008) and therefore does not include the most recent finds, it’s an organized work on T. rex paleoautecology rather than a collection of papers like the more recent book. As a result, it’s a better introduction to the animal. Author John Horner expresses a few views that have since been modified – T. rex as primarily a carrion feeder, for example – but nothing much has changed about the animal’s skeletal anatomy or paleoenvironmental habitat. With some color illustrations and a lot of line drawings, this is not a bad for an intelligent young dinosaur enthusiast (assuming they know or can figure out what an “occipital condyle” is, for example). Comparing the two might show the importance of keeping up to date in the field. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
