Summary: This book informs the reader all about George Washington's life. From before being the president to after being president, George Washington has a very interesting life. This informational book lets the reader follow George Washington from when he is a farmer, statesman, general, and his days as a president.

Personal Reaction: This is a great book that tells children all about our first president. It is a short book that describes his life from beginning to th end of presidency.

Classroom Extention Ideas:
1. Have the students write down two things they learned about George Washington.
2. Discuss what they wrote down as a class.

This short chapter book is very informational about American history, as well as a great biography on George Washington. The text has several chapters that each tell about a different time period in Washington's life. The text is written for mostly 3rd graders, but could be kept in a 2nd or 4th grade class as well. The text is written is lengthy paragraphs but is in large font and includes lots of small pictures and diagrams. Along with learning tons about George Washington, a lot can be learned about American history in general in this book as well. ( )
