I have always loved this book. The illustrations in this story are very accurate as to how a child responds to something they do not wish to do. For example, sitting at the table and not wanting to eat a certain food. another reason why I enjoy this book is because her name is the same as mine, although I was not this stubborn as a child. Lastly, I like this book because of how I can relate to this while studying to become a teacher. Everything the mom asks her to do he refuses, but when she uses her reverse psychology, then the girl does what the mother actually wants her to do which is how most children are. The moral of the story is to listen to your parents. ( )

One of my all-time favorite "early reader" kid's book! Awesome illustrations and dialogue, the simple but meaningful story about a kid who always says no is just classic. ( )

I would use this book for K-2nd grades. It is about a girl who says no to everything. She does the opposite of everything her mother says. One day her mom says no and Kate finally says yes!

Katie says no to absolutely everything and always does the exact opposite of what she is asked. Nothing will change her attitude, including bribes. Finally her mother tells her “no” and she says “yes”. ( )
