this story is a classic tale that never gets old! the story is relatable given the argument between Jack and his mother and Jack disobeying his mother to go off and seek adventure. Something children dream about doing daily. This book offers an escape from reality but also offering a sense of relatability. ( )

A man named jack trades away what little he owns for some "magic" beans? little does he know is that these beans are actually magical. Overnight the beans grow into a giant vine that leads to clouds. He immediately begins to climb the beanstalk. Once he reaches the top he notices a giant home, he naturally becomes curious as to what or who lives inside. He then travels into the home to find a goose that lays golden eggs, his first thought is that this goose will solve all his financial problems and make him rich quick. He then decides to steal the goose but is interrupted by the owner of the house. A giant. The giant begins to chase Jack across the clouds but jack quickly escapes back down the beanstalk. Once he reaches the bottom he notices that the giant is following him down. Jack makes a quick decision to cut down the beanstalk that has given him everything thus killing the giant who is on his way down. Jack and his mother then live happily ever after with the riches jack had stolen.
