Suspenseful, tension building, & dark with authentic characters that draw you into the story. I absolutely recommend this and every other book by this author for fans of psychological thrillers. Suspenseful, tension building, & dark with authentic characters that draw you into the story. I absolutely recommend this and every other book by this author for fans of psychological thrillers. This is the book that finally got me out of my reading slump! It also had me up way past my normal “lights out” so that I could read just a few more pages. And truly, the last 50-75 pages are best read all in one sitting if possible. You will not want to put it down. This is the story of Lindsey and her teenage daughter, Sophie. When Sophie was just a young girl, Lindsey took her and went into hiding from her controlling, alcoholic, verbally (and sometimes physically) abusive husband. Skip ahead about 10 years and suddenly there are signs that someone is stalking her. Could her husband have found them? As you read along, you will begin to question everyone in their lives….who is the true culprit? Is it even just one person putting them through this stress or a few? You will change your mind multiple times as you read along. Although I’ve had other books by Chevy Stevens on my “to read” list for a long time, this the first one I have actually read. It will NOT be my last. She is definitely an author I want to read more from. Thank you to Net Galley and St. Martin’s Press for a copy of this fabulous page turner in return for an honest review. Loved it! An okay, if somewhat predictable, read. I was hoping a little more after hearing so much praise for Chevy Stevens and this book. While Never Let You Go was fast-paced and easy to follow, it brought nothing new to the genre and I did not find the "twist" to very satisfying Lindsey lives with her daughter Sophie after escaping an abusive marriage. Things are going fine until her ex husband is released from prison. I have read many thrillers and several of them have had the premise of a wife escaping from an ex. Some have been good and some not so. This particular book was the latter. The book started off well enough although the story did jump about a bit. I then felt it slowed down albeit with things beginning to happen to Lindsey. Half way through I did become a little bored. There was a handful of suspects and it was just a matter of another half of the book to get through to find out who it was. I have to admit to just flicking through to see who it was. Thrillers with the same premise need something that bit extra, unexpected to make them stand out. This particular book for me didn't do it and I did get bored. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
