This is a collection of short stories from two of my favourite authors. Despite that I had only read one of these stories previously. All the stories have been released before, mainly in now defunct anthologies with a couple that were only featured in magazines. This particular collection features mostly supernatural beings and the humans that love them: a garlic loving vampire, a genie, selkies, a ghostly presence. They are all short but sprinkled with the familiar brand of humour that both these authors have in spades, except for one story that had such a melancholy feel that I had to double check that it was written by the normally irrepressible JL Merrow. That story, Et in Orcadia, actually made me cry. Of the other four, three are much lighter in tone and one has a dark, slightly threatening vibe. The stories are so short that I can’t really break things down any further without giving the storylines away. Needless to say, if you love these authors then you’ll want to buy this anthology. Just have the tissues on standby. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
