More than a coffee table book, Native American Myths and Legends is a primer for learning about the vast richness of Native American culture in the United States of America. The information is divided into nine geographical areas of the USA. The photographs are compelling. The text is interesting, and informative. After reading this book, I wanted to know more. An extensive bibliography aids in pointing the direction for future research. Well done. ( )

In common with mythology throughout the world, North American Indian myths are of considerable interest since they not only indicate the literacy perception of the the group, often embodying a fantastic story of things and personages, but also give insights into the way human thought interprets experience be it customs, art, or natural phenomena.
