This book is for high level readers. The information, language, and vocabulary are very challenging and can be used as a guided reading book. It is based on historical events of places that were devastated by tornadoes. Each section explains the damaged caused, number of people injured, and provides many facts about tornadoes such as how they are formed and their speed and mileage. There are photographs on each page to help readers visualize a tornado's form and its destruction. There are tons of information for the reader to digest on each page which can be used in a guided reading discussion with questions about a tornado's physical features, how the people and environments are impacted, cause/effect, and characteristic events. *GUIDED READING* This is a great guide reading text.
