I think it's that his stories manage to tap into pretty deep emotions, while keeping zen-like calm through simple declarative text. Also the subtexts that tell the real story are so charming and silly and obvious. This is a great book about friendship and jealousy and kindness and empathy. About making kind choices and not betraying trust, even when it's tempting to do otherwise. Or about 2 turtles and a hat. Good times. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse

A dream with enough hats > Reality without enough hats
Is that hella deep or what?
I am not a big fan of Klassen's first two hat books ([b:I Want My Hat Back|11233988|I Want My Hat Back|Jon Klassen|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1327888784s/11233988.jpg|16160067] and [b:This is Not My Hat|13531024|This is Not My Hat|Jon Klassen|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1360096324s/13531024.jpg|19092692]), though so many of my colleagues adore them.
This one I can get behind. ( )
