It is important to explain to those viewing this video that Joseph of Nazareth was significantly older than portrayed in this video made by people who reject part of the ancient tradition of the Christian Church. Holy tradition regarding the childhood and teenage years of the Most Holy Theotokos, is recorded in writing in the Gospel of James (the "Protevangelion of James"). The Gospel of James tells us the following things which are different from the video:

Before Joseph met the Holy Virgin Mary, he was married to Salome who bore four sons and several daughters to him. Then his wife Salome died. So Joseph was a widower and much older than the Holy Virgin when the Temple leaders in Jerusalem betrothed her to him. Joseph then took the Virgin from the Jerusalem Temple, where she had been living since she was three years old, and brought her to Nazareth. He remained betrothed, or engaged, to her, but he never married her. In Nazareth, Joseph left her in the care of family, and went elsewhere to continue his work as a carpenter, building houses several miles from Nazareth.

A couple years later, when the Archangel Gabriel appeared to the Holy Virgin, she was not surprised or shocked. Angels used to appear to her at times when she was living in the Temple in Jerusalem so she was not afraid. What did surprise her were the words of Gabriel, when he told her she would bear a son. She was surprised because she had already decided she would never get married. So she did not know how she could possibly have a child. When the Archangel explained to her how this would happen, Mary said, "Yes," to God's will.

When the Holy Virgin and Joseph, her betrothed, traveled from Nazareth to Bethlehem, they were not alone. James, one of Joseph's sons, and, possibly, Salome, one of his daughters, also traveled with them.

In the afternoon, they attempted to stay at an inn between Jerusalem and Bethlehem, but there were no accommodations available to them So they continued onward toward Bethlehem. As they continued on, the Holy Virgin felt she was about to give birth. Joseph found refuge for her in a cave, used by shepherds to shelter their animals, then ran to find a mid-wife to help the Virgin. By the time he returned, the Virgin had given birth to Christ the Lord and the Cave was filled with Holy Light. ( )
