What I love about the Amelia Bedelia books is that, in being so literal, she shows the complexities of the English language to young readers who are struggling to learn all the idiosyncrasies themselves. Parish also teaches kids new things throughout the whole book. I've always been entertained by these books, and I think kids would eat them up. Figuratively, of course. ( ) Amelia Bedelia is the main character in the story "Amelia Bedelia- On the Job." In this book, Amelia Bedelia is a very naive young girl who jumps to conclusions very quickly without thinking. At one point, her teacher asks the students to meet her at the bank of elevators. Thinking her teacher meant bank as in money, Amelia Bedelia stood next to the ATM. Later, when a guest speaker said she was going to pass out papers to the students, Amelia Bedelia thought the woman was going to pass out. She jumped up and pushed the woman down into a chair and tried to elevate her feet to keep her from passing out. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse

"Amelia Bedelia and her friends at school explore different jobs and careers and think about what they want to be when they grow up! Amelia Bedelia is especially curious about her own father's line of work. If he spends the day pitching to a client, does that mean he plays a lot of baseball?"-- No library descriptions found. |
