This book shows a creative and colorful way to learn about dinosaurs. On each page, the formal name of the dinosaur is at the top, a cartoon drawing of the dinosaur is in the middle, a descriptive paragraph including facts about the dinosaur and specific ways the characters relate to the specific dinosaur are at the bottom, and drawings of the characters are next to them. The author/illustrator provides fictional characters delivering factual information that creates a nice balance between fiction and nonfiction. With this balance in the book, it creates a fun and educational way to learn about these creatures that once roamed the Earth many years ago. With how engaging this book is, introducing students to dinosaurs with this book that are in first grade through third grade would be an effective start to this part of science and history. ( ) This book introduces dinosaurs to young children. It gives the names and pronunciations of dinosaurs with very colorful pictures illustrated by the author himself. Even though this books gives very little information about the dinosaurs, I would still use it in my class to introduce students to dinosaurs and let them have fun finding a dinosaur they like and putting their name to it. I would also have students draw a picture of their dinosaur that is named after them so we could make our own class book. In this book Benard Most creates a creative way to learn about dinosaurs. He does this by creating a character that has a favorite dinosaur and then changing the dinosaur to the child's name. At the top of the page there is also the correct spelling and pronunciation of the dinosaur. The pictures are colorful and fun. Each passage has interesting information about each dinosaur and the human character. Great book for children who love dinosaurs. I love how Most relates each dinosaur name to a human name. He describes the function and purpose of each dinosaur and what they ate. I think this cute, quirky description of each dinosaurs makes it engaging for the children to learn about dinosaurs. I think this book would be great for first grade science. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
