This story picks up right where Shadow's End finishes. If you haven't read Shadow's End yet I strongly recommend you do as this book contains information that happened in Shadow's End.
As the title suggests this novella is all about Liam Cuelebre who has physically grown into an adult even though he's only a year old. His magical nature and dragon have accelerated his maturity and physical growth and everyone is trying to make adjustments.

I love this slice of life as Liam tries to figure out his place in the world and how to achieve it, managing his fiery dragon and over protective parents, college applications and puppies!

I was so into this read that when it ended I was like 'NO you can't stop there!' Thea Harrison, your killing me."

~ 4 Liam Takes Stars ~

Liam Takes Manhattan is a shot story in the Elder Races series by Thea Harrison.

This short is meant to be read after [b:Shadow's End|24667221|Shadow's End (Elder Races, #9)|Thea Harrison|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1429582923s/24667221.jpg|44282794]. Yes, their are spoilers for Shadow's End in this story, so read the novel first or be warned.

I enjoyed the insight into Liam. He’s such a unique being that it puts him in a tough situation. Add in that he is now a teenager in less time then it takes other Wyr to grow and you have a character trying to find their place in the Wyr world and battle the growing pains of being a teenager/adult. He is currently at a crossroads, feeling lost in all areas of his life and wants/needs to find out who he is.

By the end I was left wanting more. The ending does an abrupt end at a point when things are just getting more interesting. Many readers will probably not like this. I am hopeful the author will finish where the plot was going with another novella.

If you love this series, it’s a must read. It’s told so well and flushes out a characters that has become one of my favorites the day he was conceived.

I am really hoping that the way this novella ended means the next full-length novel will be about Liam. It would be great to get a deeper look, I just love the way Liam's thought process is written. ( )

Watch out world – Liam is going to be something else when he is fully mature! He is gorgeous, growing quickly, filled with fire, thinking about his future, dealing with loss and doing his best to curb his temper while wanting to spread his wings and be considered more than a child. I can see Liam is going to have an interesting life in the future, will no doubt have many adventures and ultimately (hopefully) find his mate. In the meantime…he has some growing and learning and other things to do. As the final part in a three segment storyline about the Cuelebre family it was great! I enjoyed seeing Liam and admired him for many reasons. I don’t want to give the story away because it is so very short but have to say that it was well worth the read. Hopefully in the future the three stories will be bundled together for those who want to read in order and are just beginning to read the Elder Races series. AND…I can’t wait to find out what will happen next!

Thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing for the copy of this short story to read and review. ( )

Liam Cuelebre has never been a normal kid, and following the events of SHADOW'S END, it's clear this young dragon may not be any type of kid at all anymore. With his accelerated growth and highly unusual origins, Liam can be a tough character to relate to and believe in. Harrison has carefully developed him through the Elder Races novellas, however, and from a cameo in DRAGOS TAKES A HOLIDAY to center stage in PEANUT GOES TO SCHOOL, his point of view has kept apace with his accelerated maturation. LIAM TAKES MANHATTAN marks another special milestone for him, his graduation from cute side character to "I need his book now" main attraction. LIAM TAKES MANHATTAN is an excellent chance to get a flavor for Liam's new, grownup narration and I can't wait for an entire book devoted to the young prince.
