We found this for my nephew and niece. It's hilarious! ( )

Pretty funny for adults and kids. Kids will appreciate the humor in the author describing an elephant as "his cat". Adults will appreciate the re-use of various famous paintings with an elephant in them, and the clever drawings of the elephant in various classic cat poses (i.e., grooming, litterbox, sleeping on electronics). ( )

The narrator of this book discusses all the typical cat things his pet cat does -- sleeping, eating, grooming, etc. -- but he doesn't seem to realize that his cat is actually an elephant!

Living up to its title, this is a very silly book, and cat owners/lovers in particular will get a kick out of it. The illustrations are top notch, with tons of fun details for kids to explore. I'd recommend it for elementary school-age kids and up; toddlers and preschoolers might need a little more explanation to get the joke. ( )
