StandOut 2.0 is useful but didn't resonate with me as a top shelf recommendation. In fairness, I may be strengthed out at this point, so someone starting with this one might find it more helpful. What I appreciated about it was the synthesis of the many strengths into a set of 9 categories. Buckingham explains the general concept and then offers practical advice for each category, e.g. how to make an immediate impact, how to win as a manager, how to be managed. My top criticism is that the website where you can assess yourself isn't working. I managed to setup a profile and logged in on multiple browsers. It kept hanging.
