** I received a copy of this book for free through a Goodreads giveaway. **

I really liked how the different realms described in Norse mythology were utilized in this book. The storyline was fun and engaging, and is perfect for all readers who have a love for Norse mythology or just in mythology in general. The characters are fun and well-developed and they make you care about them and their trials. This is a quick read despite the size of the book because it drags you in and you really don't want to stop reading! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves Norse myths, fantasy, adventures or elves! ( )

This is a fantasy set in an interesting magical world based on Norse history and mythology. I really enjoyed the first third of the novel, but lost interest as the focus turned to romance. It just wasn’t what I was hoping for. Obviously, lots of people love romance, so this is not a drawback for everyone, just for me. I would have preferred focusing on the other characters, their motivations, and how they were all interconnected. I think a rich world was being built, but those parts moved along so quickly that it never really made sense to me.

I did like Kallan (a strong, intelligent, driven character), the writing style, and the world the book was set in. I think if you like the idea of a fantasy rooted in Norse mythology with lots of bickering and building sexual tension, then this could be for you. ( )

I won this book and agreed to give it an honest review. Although the book is quite long, the story never drew me into it as I first expected it to do from the excerpt but it was an interesting story about an Elven witch little girl who inherited her father's war when she failed to save him from death. She vows revenge on the one man she thought was responsible and swears to kill him, but she's just a child and how could she kill a grown man and the king of Gunir named Rune. But nothing is as it seems and the fates and gods are relentless. ( )
