Yes but..I enjoyed reading this inspiring bio for early teens and tweeners, and it gave me exciting ideas for engaging further, for exploring who we are and what work and purpose we are all called to, BUT there are 118 books in this series, of which just 30 are women. We need to inspire our girls. We need to tell them stories of women. ( ) Who Was Julia Child? by Geoff Edgers and Carlene Hempel is a remarkable book about a remarkable woman. I always thought she was a cook forever, boy was I wrong. This book amazed me at what this woman did before she cooked for millions of us. I enjoyed the info and the illustrations. I got this book from the library. I really enjoyed this book because it was an easy read. Not only was it about someone who I already kinda knew about the text was not super wordy. I noticed there was pictures on almost every page which is nice to have in beginning chapter books. Even though the illustrations looked liked pencil drawings it helped to intemperate the text. Another thing that I liked about this book it was about most of her life. It is only missing from when the book was written till now. I really enjoyed reading about how her cooking show came about. It all just started with her doing well in her cooking class, then on to a cook book, then finally a television show. The message of this book was to teach about someones life and to never give up on something you believe in. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
