Summary:
This book is about the role of a mommy portrayed in a childlike manner. A young child is carrying out the role of a mommy and is taking care of her three children which are her dolls. She carries out duties a mom would do such as cleaning the house, washing the clothes, baking and calling the doctor for a sick child. She also cooks dinner, bathes them, reads to them and gets them ready for bed. She also then goes to bed. This book portrays a day in the life of a mom.

Personal Reaction:
I really like this book. This book is definitely realistic in portraying the life of a mom with three children. I know this full well with trying to raise three children of my own. I really like the way the book is written for young readers to help understand what the life of a mom is truly like. It is hard work and yet is fun at the same time.

Extension Ideas:
1. Have the class draw and color a picture of them and their mom.
2. Have the class write down three things they appreciate about their mom
3. Have the class write in a journal at least two things they learned from the book in regards to life as a mom

A great story of a young girl taking care of her dollies. The text rhymes nicely, the older brother becomes the "father" and the girl has a meal for the dolls and their father , washes dollie dishes and so forth. Illustrations are 80% of the book and appropriate for the story. This is a good book for little girls with dols. ( )
