The Narrator is so good, I don't usually like listening to male Narrators because the female voices are never right, but John Sharian did an excellent job with all the character voices. And then I devoured this and the rest of the series in the space of like a week. I could not put them down. This is one of those series where I know if I'd read it as a teenager I would have gone out of my mind in love with the characters. It's so delicious and dark. This first book is very dark, with Jaenelle living a traumatic childhood and Saetan and Daemon trying to teach and protect her, while coming to grips with her vast power.
