It also teaches the students about optimism and how to always find the good in bad situations. ( ![]() Wow! An introduction to homelessness, this book is somewhat of an emotional book. This book teaches children about how each one should try and reach one. It gives an insight in helping those in needs. This story is about a boy and his father who are homeless and live in the airport. The book looks closely how the two main characters and other homeless people who live in the airport try to stay unnoticed so that they can stay. This is a great story to share with kids to explain how you never know what people are going through. Ok when I read this book I actually cried! I probably wouldn’t read it to my students because I would tear up because the thought of people living out of an airport makes me so sad! Top 100 pick because: A compassionate and insightful look into people experiencing homelessness. The text is so thoughful and telling. The illustrations are very early 90's to me, which makes sense per when the book came out. This book is a great conversation starter and example to use when explaining homelessness to children, as well as portraying it in an empathetic manner. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
