More along the lines of 3 and a half stars but gave it four as I felt it's closer to that than 3. It was really good, the suspense and a great story line. The characters were great but maybe a little more development and their relationships sometimes felt a little glossed over and like the author was trying to wrap the book up as if she had ran out of time but overall a pretty good read ( )

As part of the summer reading program, I had to read a book that took place in my home state, which is Nebraska. I really enjoyed this book, about a young girl who is whisked away from her home in PA, to a small farm in NE. She has recently entered the federal witness protection program and has to cope with her new surroundings in a dinky town with little night life. But she makes a few friends, gets a job and falls in love. There is a little bit of suspense, some romance and interesting character relationships that keep you reading to see how everything turns out. ( )

First of all, if I had to rename the title, I’d call it, “The Book That Could Have Been More’. This has soo much unfulfilled potential, its heartbreaking really. Becca Fitzpatrick was always able to keep me on my toes wanting more but this book was the complete opposite! Dangerous Lies was one of the most predictable books I’ve ever read & the only thing that got me through it was the hope that it was going to get better… it didn’t.. maybe only a bit.

This story centers around a girl named Stella (not her real name though very similar to her actual one. surprising, I know). She is currently In the witness protection program because she saw a crime that immediately put in her danger of being killed by drug dealers. Stella is one of the most bratty girls I’ve read in a book which is also one of the main reasons why I disliked this. Everything she does is unsurprising because we already know from page one, she is the kind of person that would put her own life in danger just to show she could. JUST DON’T CALL YOUR MOM, GOD. Sorry that was unnecessary. Okay, anyways, so she moves to a completely different community than she’s used to & guess who’s there? A charming hot cowboy called Chet! Honestly I loved his character & he is the only reason this book is getting 3 stars. As any other book these days, Stella & Chet hated each other, then grew on each other like moss, & guess what? Now they’re in love! The whole relationship was rushed just like everything else in this book was. She even ended up liking her guardian, Carmina, who she loathed & did the complete opposite of everything she was told because her life sucks. I’m glad she grew & I love characters that become smarter & learn from their mistakes. But everything was just too fast paced for my liking. Also, what the heck happens to her past boyfriend? Was he murdered, did he run away, was he actually the pharmacist? I guess we’ll never know, will we? ( )

Ohh wow wow wowwww Now this is my very first Becca Fitzpatrick book I read and Holy Smokes I really loved and enjoyed it so much. I have been dying to read Mrs. Fitzpatrick Hush Hush series for a long time now, but I heard so much mix reviews about the Hush Hush series that I was kind of hesitant to read that series first. I saw a great review from a really good book blogging friend of mine who I always trust her reviews. She gave Dangerous Lies a four stars rate and an amazing review I just know I had to pick it up because if she loves it than I now I will love it as well. And Ohh boy I am supper glad and happy I check this book out from the library because I thoroughly love and enjoyed this amazing book so much. Lets see where do I start the plot and concept was full of thriller, suspense and mystery that I could not put the book down I had to read what happens next! The written style was clear and flawless that I absolutely loved to read. And the characters were very well developed, intriguing and very dynamic in there own way, and the villains were pure cold hearted, ruthless and pure arrogant that one of them thought he own everything and everybody in Thunder Basin Ugh I so despise him so much. The romance between Stella Gordon and Chet Falconer was very slow burning but subtle. Stella and Chet were very attractive to each other even though Stella was fighting that feeling for a long time, but eventually she succumb to her feeling towards Chet by the middle of the book. But Stella is battling to tell the whole truth to Chet who she really is and why she is Thunder Basin, Nebraska for. She is so sick and tire and feels totally guilty for lying too him. But by the end of the book she tells him the whole truth including the dangerous lies she has been keeping from him. She feels safer and great telling Chet the whole truth but little does she know her enemies are actually closer than she thinks. And here is where I am going to leave it off at without spoiling it for anybody. But I really did love and enjoyed Dangerous Lies that I most definitely am going to check out Becca Fitzpatrick other books out. Including her Hush Hush series which I know I am going to love and enjoy as well! ( )

Teenager Estella Goodwinn is now in WITSEC after witnessing a violent crime and agreeing to testify against the man who killed her mother's drug dealer. She's taken from her friends and family, and the hustle and bustle of city life and plunked in the middle of nowhere in Nebraska for her own safety.

Her name has been changed from Estella to Stella. Really creative, especially since she's now in WITSEC because criminals want to find her and kill her. And she HATES the name Stella. Shut up. She's not a likeable character. She's disrespectful to the woman who takes her in. There were so many things I didn't like... the town's baseball star and everyone's leniency towards his actions; Stella's comment about Inny's baby was ignorant; Stella loves Reed, oh wait, no, Stella loves Chet. Ugh. ( )
