This book is a wordless picture book. The illustrations are simple to follow and they are engaging. It has many different colors and facial expressions to keep students engaged. It is a heartwarming story that keeps you wanting more. ( )

This book by Daniel Miyares is a wordless picture book waiting to be put in the hands of someone to bring the story to life. The fiction has simple illustration waiting on a broad imagination. The book is easy to follow and flows into a cute wordless picture book story. ( )

This book is filled with emotion, from the colors, to the characters expressions, to the meaning behind the story. There is a father son bond that is relatable to many students, and all students in different ways. The pictures are very interactive and there are many ways to include the book into a curriculum. The front and back covers display a step by step guide on how to make an origami boat, which could be a fun activity for the kids! The setting also takes place in the rain so the book could be read on a rainy day. ( )

I can't resist a good wordless picture book. This story of a boy and his paper boat is delightful. Thematically, it's a cousin to The Snowy Day, but the pacing is more frenetic. I am drawn to the textures in the illustrations and I love the limited palette. Did you notice that the paper that becomes the boat has a picture of a sailboat on it? Astute readers who do will then pick up on the twist at the end. My only complaint: the placement of folding instructions on the endpapers will be the bane of librarians who want to tape the book jacket on. The cover boards are different from the jacket, and so simply removing it isn't an option. There appears to be sufficient space outside of the flaps for the instructions. ( )

This wordless book is helpful for young children and allows them to be creative in creating their own story. It also teaches children how to do an origami boat and airplane. This story can be related to the classroom by implementing weather because the little boy changed outfits depending on the weather. ( )
