This is a comic book that tells the story of a young boy that has an alter ego as a superhero. The young boy has a test in earth science one day after having a dream where the superhero is saving the city from an earthquake and telling his sidekick what causes earthquakes. He wakes up, late for school, and makes it just in time for his test, his alter ego helping him remember what he needed for the test.
This book is a really fun way for kids to learn about earth science, specifically plate tectonics. It's fiction, but it brings in all of the science content. It's written as a comic book, so it would be really good for students that are anti-book or opposed to reading.
I would probably use this for individual students who didn't want to read or to add onto a unit in earth science as a fun way for students to read individually and gain a more personal and creative form of learning about the cause of earthquakes. ( )
