This realistic fiction is about a boy who rides the bus across town after church with his grandmother. He focused on what others have and what he and his grandmother don't have, like a car or an iPod. His grandmother points out all of the things that they would miss if they weren't on the bus. This book has many situations that almost everyone would be able to relate to. ( )

Beautiful collage art and great storytelling. CJ and his Nana take the bus after church every Sunday. While CJ asks questions and thinks about things he wished he had, his Nana shows him the beauty all around him.

Focus on perspective, gratitude, and caring. ( )

Great read on a multicultural perspective on family and daily life. Recommend for students between the 1st and 3rd grades. ( )

This is such a cute book to share with young children. It tells the common theme of not everyone has the same fortunes, and some people's fortunes are another man's trash. ( )

I really enjoyed this book. It is about a boy having to ride home on the bus. At first he feels ashamed that he does not have a car to ride in, but his grandmother shows him all the things he can experience while riding the bus. In the illustrations it showed a diverse set of characters but all in a normal story line that was not about them being "diverse". This is great representation. ( )
