Twilight Visitor On a secluded stretch of beach girding the idyllic coastal town of Afife, Portugal, sits a lonely man enduring the harsh and blustery winds, hoping to escape the tragic reality of his mediocre life. His solitude is broken by the appearance of a strangely beautiful and mysterious woman who engages him in a bizarre dialogue. Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, a global crisis erupts, quickly mushrooming in just 24-hours into a worldwide event which threatens the very survival of all mankind. Mateus Cordozo has no idea that his dysfunctional life is about to radically change, and that this woman is in fact leading him down a road which will challenge his core values as he faces the crisis - one which he has the power to prevent, if he chooses to. "Twilight Visitor is an international thriller, with a complicated, intense plot and colourful characters. Its elegant prose, rich with original metaphors and succinct descriptions, creates an illusion of dazzling sceneries, almost palpable components of reality, and suspense, deftly mixed with philosophical and political dilemmas of contemporary life. The excitement of reading it ends only on the last page." Alex Markman Author of Contra-ODESSA… (mere)

Does a great job of creating a realistic crisis. ( )

Re'al Laplaine has done it yet again, with his words he takes the fantastical and creates a book of relevant realism in TWILIGHT VISITOR ( and it's NOT the first time )
He takes the quite possbile, war between China and Iran, and uses a 'what-if' -a visitor of sorts, to aid in saving life as we know it.

He has to be a genius. Intuitive, concise and insightful is what i would call his style. Guaranteed to make the reader stretch your brain strength! ( )

Twilight Visitor: A Global Thriller is certainly all that. Without spoiling the story I will say that details a geopolitical scenario that is entirely plausible in its scope and fantastic in its resolution. The action keeps building and building and reaches a crescendo that merely serves as the appetizer for something larger, which hopefully will appear in a sequel. But forget all that for a moment. Inside this story I found something I cannot recall ever reading in a novel. Amidst page after page of non-stop action on a global stage I found myself treated to metaphors and similes of great beauty and poetry that acted like moments of silence in the storm raging through the book. The effect on me, somehow, was to add a poignancy to what I was reading, and often I found myself considering the author’s treatment of international brinksmanship as playing out before us daily in real life. These moments add another dimension to the story that I have not read before in any action, fantasy or science fiction novel before. I cannot say whether this was an inspired contrivance on the author’s part or simply a part of his style but I found it extremely effective. I look forward to the sequel! - Joe Howard ( )

I've read all of Real's books. He is truly a deep thinker on many timely and worldly subjects.
He personal blogs gives greater depth to the meaning of his 8 books. My take that the line in Twilight Visitor "...essence of life is positive..." is the author's hopefulness for a better more peaceful future. Some the main characters transition from a life of mediocrity to success (The Buffalo Kid and this latest book in particular). Twilight Visitor is an unabashed commentary of hell on earth caused by the existing planet's war machines & fake wars (invasions), hypocrisy, and raises the uncertainty of the sleeping giant, China in his plot as a possible historical scenario. I think all his readings are terrific movie material. Twilight Visitor has similar intensity as The Hunt for Red October.

Author, Real Laplaine, has just seen the international publication of his newest book, TWILIGHT VISITOR – through the British publishing house Netherworld Books.

TWILIGHT VISITOR is a global thriller, with a compelling contemporary and convoluted plot. The book encompasses two stories, which come together as one, and all in a 24 hour period.

This is a story that really grips you and takes you into a world that tantalizes the imagination. But on the other hand, it may very well become a reality here upon planet earth. I highly recommend books by Réal Laplaine.

This is a book for progressive thinkers, people who can see outside the box. Is this story fantasy or is it touching on reality.....only you can judge. Loved it! Great story and characters. Makes me wonder how much has already gone on on the global stage. I highly recommend reading Twilight Visitor.
