Two fuzzy creatures can't agree on who is small and who is big, until a couple of surprise guests show up, settling it once and for all!
The simple text of Anna Kang and bold illustrations of New Yorker cartoonist Christopher Weyant tell an original and very funny story about size -- it all depends on who's standing next to you. -- GoodReads

This story is very cute and shows students the importance of perspective. ( )

So cute! Fun display of opposites as well as how we can get along despite our differences and how we all have something in common in the end. ( )

One group of bears argues with another group about which ones are big and which ones are small. Then some other creatures come around to help clear up the issue. Full page illustrations help show the emotions in the characters. Teaches about relativity. Could be paired with Once a Mouse. ( )

This is a book about perspective and differences. Two creatures argue over who is big and who is small, but once they realize that creatures come in all shapes, sizes, and skins (furry, smooth), they agree that they are both big and small; they head off to lunch and enjoy each others company despite their differences.

I would use this book in an Social Studies setting to open dialogue about differences and why we should embrace the fact that everyone is different. Students can then research current issues regarding race, religion, gender, etc. and talk about why it is important to embrace diversity.

I rate this book 4.5 out of 5 stars. ( )
