This book contained all the angsty teenage romance that is typical of the genre, while still maintaining some unique qualities in the fantasy aspect. Her mother died when she was born, her father has gone nuts, and her brother left home when she was ten. When she turns 18 she goes off to college and finds her first BFF. Along the way she reconnects with her brother and meets an intriguing man, Aidan. I have to say right now, he is my new favorite book boyfriend. As if Amelia life wasn't already enough to deal with she is also an Elder and immortal in our world. She is betrothed to a prince she knows nothing about, and the queen wants to use her as a weapon. This book will leave you wanting more NOW!
