Lady Ty, a hard-driving lawyer, who happens to be the goddess of the lost Tyburn River, is taking care of her patch of London when her daughter is accused of murder. Peter Grant and his Folly colleagues in charge of what old-school cops call “weird bollocks” had better be on the case or Lady Ty will not be happy. This is urban fantasy at its best. Aaronovitch feels free to add new, intriguing characters and change the valences on old ones whenever the situation demands. You might think he could not get away with it, but he does. I don't take that as a great sign. I feel like these books are becoming weaker as they go along which is a shame because I still enjoy the characters a lot.
