Go to the wrong places for things, and put random items in the wrong places at her house ( ) Gosh, do any of these actually make any sense? Some at least have a 'lesson' as if they were meant to be fables, but this is more like a 'shaggy dog story.' That is to say, funny, goes on for a while, and then simply stops. I liked it though. I'd like to read everything Hargreaves has written but I think my mind would no longer be my own... A friend of mine once picked this book up in a bookshop and said it reminded her of me. It reminds me of me, too! For some reason I always think these books will be more funny and clever than they actually are. I enjoyed them as a child, though, and I still think they have a certain rambunctious charm. And the illustrations are fun, just perfect for children.
