Emily Elizabeth and her friends have fun visiting Grandma, but a storm forces them to take shelter in the high school gym. But Clifford knows Grandma is worried about her little house, so he returns and does what he does best . . . fixing everything for everyone. An easy-to-read text, accompanied by colorful illustrations, will encourage older children to read the story themselves. Readers young and old will delight in Clifford’s seaside adventure. Recommended. Clifford and the big storm is about Clifford and his owner Emily. They both went to the seashore to visit Emily's grandmother and a huge storm rolled in! Emily and her grandmother immediately went to find a shelter for them while Clifford went back to protect Emily's Grandmothers house from the huge waves approaching. Clifford was able to protect the house because he is so big! This would be a good book to share in a classroom when talking about sacrificing yourself for something important to other people. The illustrations were very colorful! Clifford is the biggest, reddest, most loveable dog that has ever existed in children’s literature. Almost every child has read a Clifford book sometime in their lifetime. Clifford books tend to revolve around Clifford and Emily Elizabeth helping others, or solving problems. In this particular story, they are at Emily Elizabeth’s grandmother’s house, which is by the sea. One day, a big storm comes and everyone is evacuated to the high school overnight. Emily Elizabeth’s grandmother is so worried about her house during the storm. Knowing this, Clifford goes back to the house to protect it. He not only manages to save the grandmothers house but he also saves the nearby lighthouse from a fire, two puppies from drowning and two sailboats from crashing. This story is all about doing what you can do. People tend to compare their abilities with others and this can be a good lesson to teach children. No everybody can do everything. What counts is doing what you can do to help others. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse

If he's not a cute little puppy, I really have trouble caring about Clifford and his adventures. ( )
