I liked this book because it talks about feelings and emotions. These are big things happening with kids and they may not understand. This book goes through the different emotions and explains them and how to deal with them! This could be used for an ELAR class we could talk about describing emotions and practice using them in a sentence. ( )

I adored this book! The illustrations are fun and simple, and the cutout heart that continues throughout the whole book through all the different feelings is a great touch. The book goes through all different feelings a kid might experience, describing what it feels like “in my heart.” It’s very descriptive, and I really think it is able to help kids identify what emotion they’re feeling and come to terms with it. I loved on the page where it describes sadness the author makes sure to say that she won’t feel like this forever; I thought that was a really important thing to note. The book isn’t very complex, but I think that that is what makes this work better. Emotions are complicated to put into words and to comprehend, and this book does an outstanding job at simplifying it for kids. ( )

A book for 3 to 5 year olds about comparing emotions to real life things to express how you feel. With vibrant illustrations that will engage children and make them interested. ( )

In this book a girl talks about her many types of feelings and what they make her want to do, how she copes with big intense feelings. She regulates her emotions. Good for ages 3-5 Source: Tacoma Public Library System.

Summary: This book was given to me by my mom on my 21st birthday. This story is perfect for children to be exposed to new vocabulary and ways to express yourself inside, just like the girl does in the story. The little girl expresses her emotions and what it feels like inside.

Personal summary: great for toddlers and young children ( )
