Cuddle up with a classic! In twelve needle-felted scenes and twelve child-friendly words, each book in this ingenious series captures the essence of a literary masterpiece. Simple words, sturdy pages, and a beloved story make these books the perfect vehicle for early learning with an erudite twist. Budding bookworms will delight in this clever retelling of the classics made just for them! Mark Twain'sThe Adventures of Huckleberry Finn introduces the irrepressibleboy Huck, his journey down the MississippiRiver, and his attempts to help his friend becomefree. It's a first words primer for your literary little one! The Cozy Classics series is the brainchild of two brothers, both dads, who were thinking of ways to teach words to their very young children. They hit upon the classics as the basis for their infant primers, and the rest, as they say, is history. From Moby Dick to Pride and Prejudice, here are The Great Books of Western Literature for toddlers and their parents in board book form--a little bit serious, a little bit ironic, entirely funny and clever, and always a welcome gift. As with [b:Cozy Classics: The Adventures of Tom Sawyer|18675247|Cozy Classics The Adventures of Tom Sawyer|Jack Wang|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1394637274s/18675247.jpg|26509845], Cozy Classics: Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn opens with an introductory image of the title character with text from [a:Mark Twain|1244|Mark Twain|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/authors/1322103868p2/1244.jpg]'s original [b:The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn|2956|The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn|Mark Twain|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1274410225s/2956.jpg|1835605] as the background. Huck Finn looks so positively friendly in this "boy" illustration that every child will want to be his friend!
Although I don't find the illustrations in this one quite as creative as those in Cozy Classics' Tom Sawyer book, the "river" and "talk" illustrations are still excellent.
The Cozy Classics are great beginning reader books as well as beautiful introductions to the classics. And because they're board books, they'll last long enough to become family favorites.
