Splat the Cat can't wait to try the rides and food at the fair with his friends, but when Kitten can't come, Splat, Spike, and Plank are determined to cheer her up by bringing her back something from the fair.

Splat the cat: up in the air at the fair is a great book for first graders. The book talks about a fun day at the fair but also talking about friendship. It was fun to read and touch warming with a bit of a giggle. I think children will enjoy reading the book with a partner and a great ways to discuss friendships. The illustrations of the book was also done beautifully. ( )

The funny illustrations are sure to amuse children learning to read. The funny rhymes will also please. The story felt a little formulaic, but it definitely had its cute moments.
