Great story that students will find funny! Follows the story of a child who talks about how to baby sit her grandma. ( )

When you're little you always think about a babysitter because that's who takes care of you when mom and dad have to go. This book changes things up just a little. Instead of grandma babysitting, you're babysitting grandma. I have babysat before and while reading this book I thought of all the games and different things to do that I always think of the day before. I found this story to be quite amusing because the little girl is giving directions on how to babysit a grandma. I think it is cute that the little girl thinks that she is babysitting her grandma when in reality her grandma is babysitting her. I also enjoyed the illustrations because they have little hidden things. On one page when the little girl tells her grandma she is there to babysit her, the illustrator put an exclamation point on the dogs head to show his surprise. On another page when the little girl and the grandma are at the park there are four lizards standing on two legs with sticks in their hands. It was a very cute and amusing book. ( )

A fun story about the grandparent and grandchild relationship. Jean Reagan creates a funny scenario where the child thinks she is babysitting her grandmother and not the other way around. The books gives ideas of what a child should do when "babysitting" a grandparent. This book is such a fun and happy story that children enjoy for an interactive read aloud. ( )

Written as a guide for children this book puts a spin on spending time with grandma. It is a delightful book that guides the reader through a day with grandma from the child’s perspective. It includes everything from pushing grandma on a swing and reminding her to pump her legs, adding sprinkles to make food taste better and how to say goodbye. I can envision this book being a great gift from any granddaughter to her grandmother. There is also a version about babysitting a grandpa. My only real concern is that there aren’t other versions of this book that include a girl babysitting grandpa, a boy babysitting grandma and there are no versions in which there are people of color represented. It is a great book with beautiful illustrations but is not diverse. My dream would be that this book could be written to represent every combination possible, big dreams! ( )
