A deadly secret concealed inside an intricate Imperial Faberge egg pulls artist Laurel Swann deep into a dangerous world of international intrigue and lies. Now she's trapped between her father and her lover in a world where trust is the most precious commodity of all and the wrong choice may doom them all.

Maxwell also writes as Elizabeth Lowell - this is one of her earlier books, and the subject matter may be a bit dated, but the suspense level remains high. Great for an afternoon escape into the perils of international espionage tinted with the rosy glow of romance. ( )
