This book go in great detail for a fourth or fifth grade level of the life of the Egyptians and the importance of the pyramids in Egypt. It informs the children of the different lifestyle that people experienced during the age the pyramids were built. It tells of how the people felt they were not only contributing to the afterlife of the Pharaoh, but also to the prosperity of their culture. The book also go into detail the work that went into building the pyramids
Personal Reaction:
Having spent an extensive period of time in Egypt, I found this book to be enlightening. The facts on how the pyramids were built actually impressed me for the learning experience the children would obtain.
Classroom Extension Ideas:
I would bring my collection of things that I bought while in Egypt along with a maps to show how upper and lower Egypt were divided but yet one. ( )
