"Beginning a bold new series that details the relationship between The Man of Steel and the Warrior Princess as writer Charles Soule (Swamp Thing) is joined by artist Tony S. Daniel (Batman) to tell the tale of a romance that will shake the stars themselves. These two super-beings love each other, but not everyone shares their joy. Some fear it, some test it--and some will try to kill for it. Some say love is a battlefield, but where Superman and Wonder Woman are concerned it spells Doomsday!"--… (mere)

Recommended by Anne. She thinks Superman is scorching. I think Wonder Woman is smoking hot. In any case, they join forces to battle Zod and Faora, who like Superman have come to Earth to find they have extraordinary powers. Meanwhile, Superman manages to piss off some of Wonder Woman's deity relatives. Between these and some mysterious and unexplained deep sea shenanigans (setting the stage for the next book), the pair get pretty beaten up and tossed in a nuclear power plant tower. The budding relationship between the two is ill-explained, but seems to be based on both being something more than human. Great, colorful illustrations but the characters do not appear consistent. Action packed fun. ( )

It was interesting to see Superman in a different relationship (other then Lois Lane); I think many people like to speculate about Superman and Wonder Woman as a couple and this title does not disappoint. ( )

If you want this to make sense, read at least the first 3 Wonder Woman books. Interestingly, you don't need to read the Superman books. You might want to read the first couple of Justice League books too so that you understand the set up. ( )

I've picked up every copy of this series, and it is a well-crafted and drawn series. Soule has done an extraordinary job teasing out the unique characteristics of Superman and Wonder Woman as heroes and people, nicely combining aspects and characters from their individual titles and mythologies. Wonder Woman and Superman are indeed the Power Couple of the DCU, and Charles Soule and Tony Daniel shows readers why every month. ( )

I keep thinking they (DC) have some plan to make this pairing of Superman and Wonder Woman make sense to me, and yet every time TPTB puts it on the page, I wince even more than the last time.

There are some other moving parts in this TPB, but basically the Phantom Zone is coming apart at the seems apparently and Superman doesn’t quite know enough about that as well as some of the other Kryptonian technology in his fortress.

Doomsday comes through first and gives Superman and Wonder Woman quite the fight. Then Superman and Wonder Woman pay a visit to Hephaestus and for some odd reason Superman and Apollo fight and that fight definitely doesn’t go as Apollo thought it would.

Finally the real threat, Zod, reveals himself, he goes up against not only Wonder Woman and Superman, but Steve Trevor, Hawkman, Martian Manhunter, and Vibe even.

The TPB was a good solid story (which, if the whole Wonder Woman/Superman relationships had been taken out of it I would have liked actually). But my favorite part of the TPB though was the sorta bro talk between Batman and SUperman. It was pretty cool, not to mention hilarious at points as well.

I got this advanced galley through Netgalley on behalf of DC Entertainment ( )
