It seems the author put some research into the science of sleep in the beginning. I like the review of the characters in the bible who also had dreams that meant something, showing that our dreams must mean something too, even if its not as great as theirs.
I must admit, i really found the "symbols and interpretation" part of the book the best. I like how there is a verse on where it was mentioned. ( )

This book is probably the most practical, definitive book I've ever read on understanding the dreams and visions that we receive. It discusses how to discern where these come from and how to go about interpreting our dreams instead of just discarding them as "pizza dreams".

I believe that God is always talking, but more often than not we are not listening. This book will help you, the reader, to listen and receive! If I had a "best Christian Non-fiction book of the year award", this book would get it! ( )

I am not quite the audience for whom this book is designed. As a practicing Christian in a main-line denomination, I am quite comfortable with the good role that dreams can be in ones life. The author does spend time on defending the idea that religious people can use dreams. The case is a little oversold. Her classification of dreams seems a bit specious, with prophetic dreams classified as to whether they are for the present or the future, and then further divided into a) waking, decision, encouragind, audible, and pizza (present); and b) warning, directional, recurring, incubation, and apocalyptic (future). I was hoping for two things that did not come forth: actual retelling of dreams in the Bible, and the usefulness of dream groups. Her style is a bit too talky, but maybe I am too proper. I do like her enthusiasm and her listing of visions. I am struggling as to handle dreams vs. visions and she adds into my own digesting of this dichotomy. ( )

This book is mostly about the realm of seeing the things of God but does also include a whole chapter on hearing the voice of God as well. This book emphasizes dreams and visions (as per the subtitle, What God Is Telling You through Dreams & Visions) but in actuality is very broad in what is included within.

There is extensive information on the Hebrew definitions of words like vision, dreams, translations and scripture references of the same. This book contains a comprehensive dream symbol dictionary. There are suggested prayers at the end of each chapter and a written out impartation. The author says she is praying for her readers. I believe her because I did dream more the night after I read most of this book. I had a series of about 5 or 6 dreams, more than I usually dream, or at least more than I usually remember dreaming.

This book is unique in one other aspect. I have never seen another dream book (and I have several) that includes medical information on how to get more sleep. (The author interviewed a medical sleep expert for this info.) She also includes plenty of personal stories to keep the reader very interested.

I loved this book and I could hardly put it down. I am hard pressed to find something that I didn’t like in this book. It wasn’t perfect, but it was close!

"Seeing the voice of God" was a very well written book. I loved the scriptures to reinforce everything. And the stories that made it true for today too. I do like the Dream Dictionary enclosed too that will stay near my bed so when I dream I can check the list to see what my dream meant. ( )
