This book is about a young bear who wants a treat but has to play by the rules. The host of the tea party has various requirements in order to receive treats. This books teaches kids about being patient in learning the rules. I think this book would be beneficial for a classroom because it shows if you work hard for something you want then you can achieve it. My daughter is home from her first year of college. Time for Mama, Papa and Baby Bear to sit on the sofa for a picture book binge! (3 of 4) An interesting start with a case of mistaken identity between a teddy bear and a real cub peters out about halfway through. I'd rather re-read a few of the strips of tea parties gone awry in Richard Thompson's Cul de Sac: https://www.pinterest.com/villemezbrown/tea-party-gone-awry/ A young cub comes across a tea party while in the forest, but before he can eat the cookies, the cub had to be clean, neat, and fancy. The cub also had to eat daintily because those were the tea party rules that the little girl made up. The book is a good read to teach manners and how important it is to follow the rules. Although the book is about following the rules and using your manners, the ending changes as the little girl decides to play bear instead of continuing to use proper etiquette because she does not want to eat her cookies daintily. I feel like this changed the entire point of the story, but the book still made a point to reiterate using your manners, following the rules, and using your imagination. This book is about a little bear, Cub that finds cookies in the woods. He isn't allowed to have any cookies until he is all cleaned up and pretty according to the little girls tea party rules. This is a great book to teach young students about following the rules and could also be used to teach personal hygiene before eating. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
